The blue-eyed cockatoo, has acquired it’s  name from the bare blue circle of skin around the eyes. The eyes themselves are dark.  Cacatua ophtalmica (blue-eyed cockatoo) from New Britain (living up to 50years) , are  a lot like Cacatua galerita (sulphur crested cockatoo) from Australia, New Guinea (living up to 40years)  Parrots are gregarious birds and very strong flyers. I think it is a terrible shame  and cruel to keep them cooped up in a cage. These magnificent creatures are meant to fly the skies.
